It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Fr Albert Nolan OP. Fr Albert died peacefully in his sleep, in the early hours of Monday 17 October 2022.
The funeral details as announced by the Dominican Order are as follows:
· The Requiem mass and body viewing will be on Wednesday 19 October 2022 at Our Lady of Mercy in Springs at 17h00.
· The Funeral mass will be on Friday 21 October 2022 at Our Lady of Mercy in Springs at 12h00. This will be followed by the interment of his ashes at Marian house in Boksburg.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and light perpetual shine on him. May his soul rest in peace.
Fr Emil in Hospital
Fr Emil Blaser, Director of Radio Veritas, was admitted to hospital this week for treatment for the CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy) condition he was recently diagnosed.
CIDP is a chronic ailment of the nerve endings causing numbing, tingling, pain, progressive muscle weakness, loss of deep tendon reflexes (areflexia), fatigue, and abnormal sensations.
Fr Emil had this message for his faithful listeners: "This week I will be in hospital for five days treatment of CIDP. Hopefully it will be a time of rest. Keep me in your prayers and thank you to the many who have sent me messages of "Get well" and assurances of their love."
We wish Fr Emil everything of the best with his tretment, and look forward to his speedy return to the station.
Almighty and merciful Father, by the power of your command, drive away from him all forms of sickness and disease. Restore strength to his body and joy to his spirit, so that in his renewed health, he may bless and serve you, now and forevermore. Amen
